Scenic route to the Lakes from Ushuaia: Hidden Lake and Lake Fagnano

We depart from Ushuaia towards the northeast, crossing the National Route Nº 3 between mountains, valleys and forests until you reach the lakes most impressive of Tierra del Fuego: the Hidden Lake and the Lake Fagnano.

During this sightseeing tour from Ushuaia, cross the Carbajal Valley, where nature manifests itself with peatlands, hanging glaciers and ancient glacial valleys. The first stop is a natural viewpoint, ideal for photographs of the landscape of the andean-patagonian.

We continued on to a winter resort, the perfect place to enjoy a coffee mountain and learn more about the natural environment of tierra del fuego. Then, we follow the winding road by forests of lenga and ñire to the famous Step Garibaldi, from where you can see a spectacular view of the Lake Escondido and Fagnano Lake, also known as Khami language selk'nam.

Descending towards the Lake Fagnano, we passed by the old areas of beaver dams and sawmills, where it is possible to observe the environmental impact of this species. Our next stop is the Stay of Carmen, on the shores of Lake Fagnano, trails, docks for photographs and spaces to rest.

Before returning to Ushuaia, we make one last stop at a winter resort where you can have lunch (optional), and taste the traditional fuegian lamb, a dining experience is a must in the Land of Fire.
